Crystal UPVC Help BTEC Students Develop their
Sales Technique.

As part of their studies BTEC First Business students are required to undertake personal selling role-plays within two sales situations. Students completed one role-play during their work experience placement in February and most recently on Thursday 19 March in conjunction with Crystal UPVC window and Door Systems.

Managing Dircetor of Crystal UPVC Russell Crank has a personal link with the College as his son attended Ashton Sixth Form several years ago and has gone on to become a successful partner in the company. Russell spent the morning giving Business Students a master class in sales, focusing on double glazing and a brand new product which is awaiting its launch.

After soaking up a range of sales techniques and Russells' top sales tips, the students spent the afternoon undertaking an assessed role play with Russell as the customer themselves as sales representatives. All students successfully passed and Russell was impressed with the confidence and persuasive abilities of all the students.

This is the second consecutive year that Russell has donated his time and expertise in order to work with our Students and we are very grateful for his contribution. Links with such companies are an invaluable source of both knowledge and inspiration to our students who can relate classroom theory with work place requirements.
